Premier Doug Ford is blasting the owner of two parcels of land in Ajax that was removed from the Greenbelt for development.Ford released a statement Tuesday, saying the owner did not tell the government’s facilitator about their intention to sell during active and ongoing discussions.
As a result, the province is now exploring all options – including immediately starting the process to put the sites back into the Greenbelt. “To the other property owners, you’re on notice: if you don’t meet our government’s conditions, including showing real progress by year end with a plan to get shovels in the ground by 2025, your land will go back into the Greenbelt.”“Recently, we learned that the owner of 765 and 775 Kingston Road East in Ajax, sites that were selected as part of the land-swap to build at least 50,000 new homes and grow the size of the Greenbelt, listed this land for sale.
