PAPAR: The local white rice in Sabah has been proposed to be a controlled item so as to be streamlined with pricing of the same item in the peninsula at RM2.60 per kg.
There is also a possibility of bringing local white rice from the peninsula to Sabah so the people are able to enjoy lower selling price at RM2.60 per kg.Acting Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, said he submitted the proposal in a recent Federal Cabinet meeting via Minister of Agriculture and Food Security as well as to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor for consideration.
