The Police Regional Office-Davao Region (PRO-Davao) reassigned 65 personnel in November 2024, emphasizing the move was not politically motivated. The spokesperson explained the reassignment was a regular occurrence within the PNP organization.

The Police Regional Office-Davao Region (PRO-Davao) filed the documents for the reassignment of 65 Philippine National Police ( PNP ) 11 personnel in July 2024, long before the political clash of Vice President Sara Duterte with the Marcos administration. PRO-Davao spokesperson Police Major Catherine dela Rey explained to Philippine Information Agency (PIA)-Davao that the reassignment order released by Camp Crame on November 25, 2024, effective on the same day, 'was non-political'.

dela Rey said that the reassignment of police officers and non-commissioned officers had been regularly done in the PNP organization. Signed by Acting Chief of the Directorial Staff Police Major General Alan Okubo, the special order reassigned the 65 PRO-Davao officers and personnel to PRO-2, PRO Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR), PRO-Mimaropa, and PRO-5. 'There were 32 police officers and 33 non-commissioned personnel,' dela Rey said while also revealing that most of those reassigned were men while only a few were women. In an interview earlier with PTV Davao, dela Rey assured the public that PRO-Davao officers and personnel have stayed with its mandate to serve and protect. 'Apolitical jud na sila permanente. Dili mi manghilabot kung unsa man ang bangi sa politika. Ang amoa, ang pagserbisyo dinha sa katawhan as law enforcers. (They’ve always been apolitical. We won’t meddle with any political clash. What we always do is serve the public as law enforcers),' she said. Meanwhile, dela Rey said the reassignment 'is not permanent' as they can request for re-assignment back to Davao Region or anywhere they want in the Philippines after six months
