New South Wales Opposition leader Chris Minns says privatisation is a “big issue” this election campaign and fears once the polls close if Liberals are re-elected they will sell off Sydney Water next.
“It’s a big issue in this election campaign – in relation to privatisation, once the polls closed the toll roads were sold off, the buses were sold off and they tried to sell off the timber industry as well, the problem with privatisation is as soon as you’ve sold everything off and you’ve got nothing else to sell, how do you build for the future of New South Wales,” Mr Minns said.
“My big fear is they’ll repeat the habit of a lifetime once the polls close if they’re re-elected, Sydney Water is out the door next and I don’t think this state can afford it.”
