The event, coming to Prince George on June 3, was co-developed by a UBC Northern Medical Program graduate.

The event, running from noon to 4 p.m. at Central Interior Native Health , is open to anyone 25-years or older who needs a Pap test. Pap tests are recommended every three years for people aged 25 to 69, to screen for signs of cervical cancer.

“We envisioned offering an event where those aged 25-69 who were due for a Pap smear could easily access care, update their screening, and receive trauma-informed care,” said Layton, a family doctor in Nanaimo.
