Christmas and New Year bin collection dates in Preston will be altered, meaning residents need to be aware of changed collection days.
Christmas is just days away and all routine will be thrown out the window. We all know the period between Christmas and New Year is a free-for-all - no one knows what day it is and we're all filled with cheese and turkey. Routine will be changed in terms of bin collection dates too, as there will be a number of days where no collections will happen at all.
For those in Preston and under the City Council jurisdiction, these dates will change over the Christmas and New Year period, meaning your bins will have to go out on different days than usual. If you're due to have yours collection on either December 25, 26 or January 1, then it's important to note no recycling collections will occur on these dates. However, the council states you can put out extra recycling in untied carrier bags on your next scheduled collection day. You will also be notified of changes to your grey bin collection via a sticker on your bin. Residents under Preston City Council can search for their bin collection day on their website.
