A ‘sexual enhancement’ product sold at the store not only contains a prescription drug, but also caffeine — taken together, the chemicals increase the risk of heart attack and stroke.
Health Canada says an unauthorized health product seized in February from Paris Natural Foods contains a prescription drug.
Tadalafil is a prescription drug used to treat erectile dysfunction and should be used only under the supervision of a health care professional, Health Canada said on its website. Back in February, Health Canada seized several unauthorized health products from two natural food stores in Sudbury — Paris Natural Foods at 1500 Paris Street and from Durham Natural Foods at 1191 Montrose Avenue — claiming the products show labels indicating those products contain prescription drugs or controlled drugs which might post health risks.
