Brews & Burgers: Harvey's To Go | SaltWire #harveys #burger #beer #foodbloggerTwo days have been reserved next fall for a preliminary inquiry for a man charged in the death of a woman who was found stabbed on Herring Cove Road in Halifax in May 2022.

Kenneth Wayne Clarke, 41, of Halifax was arrested last November, almost 18 months after the killing of Chauntel Lizette MacIntyre, and charged with first-degree murder.Dates for a preliminary inquiry were set Friday, when Clarke appeared in Halifax provincial court with lawyer Scot Stanfield. If Clarke wants bail, he will have to make an application in Nova Scotia Supreme Court. In the meantime, he’s been ordered to have no contact with six potential Crown witnesses.

MacIntyre, 37, was discovered injured at the intersection of Sylvia Avenue and Herring Cove Road at about 12:45 a.m. on May 17, 2022. She was rushed to hospital but died from her wounds. Clarke was arrested Nov. 2, 2023, about 10 hours after investigators picked up a 31-year-old woman at a home in Halifax and took her to police headquarters for questioning. She was released without charges being laid.

A Halifax Regional Police spokesman said Clarke was known to both MacIntyre and the woman who was questioned.
