The Flyers held tough in the final seconds to preserve the victory, taking pride in blocking numerous shots. Before Saturday, the concern wasn’t so much about scoring goals. It was about keeping them out of their own end and the make up of the Senators defence, particularly in the absence of injured Artem Zub, is an area of concern.
After playing the first 1,000 games of his career with the Flyers, including 10 seasons as captain, Saturday marked the first time he had played against his former team.
