Almost 1,900 customers without power on Cape Breton Island.
Almost 2,000 Nova Scotia Power customers on Cape Breton were without power Saturday morning, including about 340 from Bouladerie to Kempt Head. CONTRIBUTED / NOVA SCOTIA POWER OUTAGE MAPSYDNEY, N.S. — Almost 2,000 Nova Scotia Power customers on Cape Breton had no power Saturday during the extreme cold weather.
At that time, the power company was reporting about 1,821 customers on the island were without power and almost 1,350 were in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality, in or near Sydney, Sydney River, Glace Bay, Reserve Mines and Main-a-Dieu. Some areas which lost power Friday night, including 342 customers from Boularderie to Kempt Head had their power restored before the outage map update at 2:45 p.m.
