Mayor says town looking for options to rectify the issue and restore Frog Pond to what it traditionally was
“Another devastating loss of environment in the town of C.B.S. due to projects undertaken,” the petition reads.
C.B.S. Mayor Darrin Bent said town officials have met with area residents and are looking for ways to restore the pond. “And I can tell you that myself, as mayor, and our council are just as concerned as the residents and want to see this rectified as soon as we can. We need to find out options that will actually rectify it.”Bent said that from what council has been told, to get water and sewer through the road in the summer the road had to be completely torn up. After the road was put back together, the normal way the pond filled — likely through groundwater and runoff — appears to have been changed.
“One of the concerns some people had was that we are going to pave the road now, and it will be too late to change it. But this will be like the surface , so the contractors will be back in the spring anyway. So, there will be no issue with us changing it and doing some work there.
