An American burger chain has its eyes set on Australia, with the company planning to open 'hundreds' of stores in the multibillion-dollar fast food market Down Under.
A well-loved American fast food restaurant could open"hundreds" of stores across Australia as it seeks to expand into more international markets.
"We believe Australia is a lucrative market for long-term growth. We think the Australian market could be hundreds of restaurants," she told The Australian Financial Review. "We are putting money on our balance sheet, we are finding the land, we are designing, building and handing you the keys," she said.
The company is seeking a master franchisee model for Australia, which means a partner company would handle the business Down Under including sourcing local producers and farmers to supply ingredients for their menu. It's expected to grow a further 1.5 per cent this year, showing why Wendy's is keen to dive into the sector to grow its business and bring its popular food to Aussies.
