“We are ready for the challenges and opportunities of government and ready to take on Dominic Perrottet in 160 days’ time.” Freshwater Strategy director and pollster Mike Turner said the data showed Labor could form a majority government in its own right, securing 47-49 seats in the 93-seat lower house. The election was likely to be won and lost on issues including the cost of living, healthcare, housing affordability and the economy.
But the Coalition still has a pathway to victory, with one-in-six voters open to changing their mind before the March election.
