Policeman in shooting had been demoted –DILG

The police officer who shot dead a mother and her son in Tarlac province last December 20 was demoted by the National Police Commission .Department of Interior and Local Government Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya confirmed Tuesday in an interview over GMA News that the rank of Police Senior Master Sergeant Jonel Nuezca has been downgraded.

On Sunday, Nuezca shot 52 year-old Sonya Gregorio and her son 25-year old Frank near the victim’s house in Paniqui, Tarlac at the height of an argument. President Duterte admitted being shocked by the incident calling Nuezca as “topak ’’ who deserves to be fed with the COVID-19 virus.
