Water Police coordinated search and rescue operations, alongside Esperance Surf Lifesaving and Marine Rescue, but were unable to save the man. Police said since September, they had received multiple calls about people ignoring signs and putting themselves in dangerous positions on the rocks.Acting Senior Sergeant Ryan Rawlins said the man who drowned on Sunday was not a local and, despite having ties to the area, was not familiar with the conditions."We want everyone to come to Esperance and have a good time and we know we've got beautiful beaches that everyone wants to wants to visit them," he said.
