Christina Calayca was last seen on Aug. 6, 2007, when she went for a run during a camping trip at Rainbow Falls Provincial Park
Provincial police are asking people visiting the area of Rainbow Falls Provincial Park to watch for signs of a woman who disappeared 16 years ago.
The OPP on Wednesday issued a news release, asking for assistance that might help with the investigation into the disappearance of Christina Calayca. Calayca, a 20-year-old from Toronto, was last seen on the morning of Aug. 6, 2007. She had been camping at the park, which is on Highway 17 between Schreiber and Rossport, when she went out for a run and was never seen again, despite extensive search efforts.At the time of her disappearance, Calayca was wearing a blue hoodie, a maroon and purple striped shirt, black pants, and blue and white running shoes with velcro.
Anyone in the area who comes across human remains, or articles or pieces of clothing that match the description is asked to contact police.
