The first incident took place just before 12 a.m. on March 18 when officers attempted to stop a speeding Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross on Birch Hills Road in Bay Roberts.A short while later, about 1:30 a.m. on March 19, Mounties saw the same vehicle on Cross Roads and attempted another traffic stop, and again, the vehicle fled.While attempting to flee the scene, the suspect rammed into a police vehicle and got away from the scene.
RCMP describes the vehicle as a black 2024 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross with the Newfoundland licence plate JSN 976. Officers have yet to identify the driver and are asking anyone with information about the driver’s identity to call Harbour Grace RCMP at 709-596-5014 or tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
