A 58-year-old woman, who police say tested positive to methamphetamine, has been arrested after a three-car crash in Adelaide's southern suburbs this afternoon.

A 58-year-old woman who tested positive to methamphetamine has been arrested after a three-car crash in Adelaide's southern suburbs this afternoon, police say.

Just before 4pm, police officers tried to pull over a car along Brighton Road in Brighton, when the car failed to stop but crashed into a taxi and a vehicle.The taxi driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The Dovar Gardens woman was arrested and is expected to be charged with a number of offences including driving while disqualified and drug driving.

A 34-year-old Marion man who was the driver of the taxi involved was taken to hospital with minor injuries.Police say they expect to open the blocked lanes in a number of hours.
