A POLICE officer was declared dead at the hospital after being found unconscious and naked inside a comfort room at his home in Sitio Simborio, Barangay Tayud, Liloan town, at 1:30 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025.The officer was identified as Police Staff Sergeant Merlou Molo Mercader, 37, a member of the Philippine National Police assigned to the Traffic Enforcement Unit of the Cebu City Police Office.
The caller, Mercader's mother, reported that she had found her son unconscious and naked inside the comfort room.Ares said Mercader had returned home from his shift at the TEU in Cebu City and entered the comfort room at approximately midnight. An hour later, his son, concerned after noticing the door was locked and the officer was unresponsive, informed his grandmother, Mercader's mother.
