SIBU: Twelve people, including three women, were nabbed for defying recovery movement control order (MCO) by gathering in a pub on Wednesday (July 1).
Sibu deputy OCPD, Supt Collin Babat said those who rounded up, aged between 20 to 59, were issued with a RM1,000 compound for the offence.According to Supt Collin, acting on information received, a police MCO enforcement team raided a karaoke and pub centre at 9.15pm on Wednesday.
"When the police team arrived, all of them were indulged in karaoke singing, including drinking liquor, in a group," he said. He said in doing so, the group committed an offence under Section 3 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations 2020.
