Queensland’s police minister has defended the service’s response to a damning Commission of Inquiry report into systematic failures of the police service in its dealings with domestic violence.

“Imagine being one of the brave whistleblowers who came forward and told your story to try and drive that change, to know that the government has not listened to your cry for help,” he said. But Police Minister Mark Ryan disputed Crisafulli’s account, saying the response to the recommendations were at “various stages of implementation”.
