NSW Police have filed a court order in an attempt to block LGBTQ+ protesters from attending George Pell's funeral.

LGBTQ+ group Community Action for Rainbow Rights had planned to demonstrate outside Pell’s funeral in a protest against his long-held stance on same-sex marriage.

The controversial former archbishop is due to have a funeral at St Mary’s Cathedral in Sydney on Thursday, after already receiving a traditional cardinal’s funeral at the Vatican.Community Action for Rainbow Rights have arranged a peaceful march for the same morning and are planning to continue despite news of the court order.
