A person has been taken into police custody in connection with the death of a man in southwest Calgary on Sunday evening.

Police confirmed to Global News that officers responded to the 200 block of Shawcliffe Circle Southwest in the Shawnessy neighbourhood at about 7:15 p.m. after someone called about a man being in medical distress. When officers arrived, they found an injured 56-year-old man who needed to be taken to hospital where he later died.“An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on Friday,” police said in a news release. “Until the completion of the autopsy, no further information can be shared.”
