In a rowdy question period, Poilievre asked Trudeau to pay back the tens of thousands in accommodations his family benefited from.

“Throughout the decades, I continued to be friends with these people and to visit them,” he said. “Sometimes I would go to theirs, sometimes they would come to mine. We are real friends … and I think even Conservatives would understand the concept of real friends.”

“I had a vacation at the same time; it was a Sunwing package and I did stay five hours waiting at the airport. But that being said, I paid for it myself,” said Poilievre. Poilievre then stood up and recited the definition of a “freeloader” from the dictionary, but the Speaker stopped him before he could finish.

Trudeau said his office worked with the ethics commissioner at the time to make sure all rules were followed, and said he followed all the usual practices in regards prime ministerial travel which includes having security tag along with him.
