The Conservative Party of Canada leader made a campaign-style speech Thursday in Edmonton, reiterating demands for bail reform and many of the country’s police services. His call comes after police reported two stabbings in Edmonton and two shootings in Calgary in the past 24 hours. When asked by a reporter whether Alberta’s UCP government needs to do more to address social issues like homelessness to better prevent crime, Poillevre pointed to crime in Vancouver, and praised Alberta for investing in addiction treatment services.
