A Philippine National Police (PNP) supply management official, Police Colonel Pergentino Malabed Jr., was among the 67 fatalities in a mid-air collision between a passenger jet and a Black Hawk helicopter in Washington, USA. Malabed was on official travel to the US for a pre-delivery inspection of purchased vests for the PNP.

Batay sa unofficial report mula sa Office of the Police Attache sa Washington D.C., nakatakdang bumalik sa Pilipinas si Malabed sa February 2 at bibisitahin ang kapatid sa South Carolina.
