Some people collect stamps. Some people birdwatch. For their hobby, the Rock Chicks go looking for ancient fossils in their backyard.
One of the ‘Rock Chicks’, Cassandra Prince, with palaeontologist Espen Knutsen and the plesiosaur fossil she discovered. But after that, they always call in the experts, whom Nicholls said they were always pleased to work with. “Lots of people out here might find something on the ground and pick it up and put it in a private collection, but that’s no good for anybody – palaeontologists don’t get to work on them and the public don’t get to see them.”
