While it seems like an extremely ambitious undertaking, these southern Africa countries share borders and moving between them by air and by boat is almost seamless.

Wooden walkways connect it to the infinity pool, and the eight traditional thatched-roof bungalows are arranged along the riverbank.
We’re all excited to go on our first jeep safari early the next day in Chobe National. Botswana’s third-largest national park is famed for its large elephant population — up to 50,000 roam freely in and out of the park — herds of cape buffalo and prides of lions. We see them all plus zebras, giraffes, kudo, baboons, warthogs, countless impala and myriad bird species.
One morning we join our river guide Lennon Simalumba on a walking tour of the island, where he lives. We sail to Botswana one final time and take a private flight to Zimbabwe, where we board the Zimbabwean Dream for three days of scenic cruising on Lake Kariba, the world’s largest man-made lake. The 223-km-long body of water was created in 1959 when the Zambezi River was dammed as part of the Kariba Dam project that supplies electricity to Zimbabwe and neighbouring Zambia.
