The PlayStation Portal will soon be available in Malaysia, after nearly a year after it was available elsewhere. It will cost RM999.

The PlayStation Portal was first unveiled in August of last year, heading into international markets in November. Now, nearly a year after the fact, the company has announced the dedicated Remote Play accessory for the local market. But it won't be immediately available - that also will be nearly a year after the its initial run outside of the country.

In an official blog post, the company has announced that the PlayStation Portal will be available in Malaysia, as well as Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand, on 9 October. Locally, it will be priced at RM999, which is the same price as the Pulse Explore TWS buds when it was released earlier in the year.Because it's been so long, no one would particularly blame you if you forgot what the PlayStation Portal is.

When the handheld was first announced, I admit, I didn't like it one bit. I argued that what this thing set out to do, you can already do with your phone, a DualSense controller of your choice, and something to mount the two together. But apparently it was popular enough to have run out of stock in markets that had it early.
