The Plateau chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has criticised the judgment that declared Simon Lalong, minister of labour and employment, as winner of the state’s southern senatorial election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared Bali as the winner of the election with 148,844 votes, while Lalong scored 91, 674 to become runner-up in the February 25 election.
“The judgment was an electoral robbery which is unacceptable to the people of Plateau because it is contrary to the will of the people of the constituencies which was freely expressed via the votes we got in the election,” he said.
