KUALA LUMPUR, March 30 — A Selangor federal lawmaker has called for a fair and unbiased approach by all parties after an elderly man was allegedly manhandled by Petaling Jaya City Council enforcement officers during an operation to capture stray dogs in Petaling Jaya recently.
“This is so that pet lovers, animal rights activists, local authorities, and relevant agencies as well as individuals can contribute in meaningful ways to create a more inclusive and civilised space for human beings as well as animals in Petaling Jaya. However, the man will be charged in court tomorrow for preventing government officials from carrying out their duties.Lee, who is also PKR’s national communications director, said he was deeply concerned about the incident as the elderly man will be charged in court tomorrow under Section 186 of the Penal Code, for obstructing a civil servant in the discharge of his functions.
