Pizza Hut will be added to the list of pizza options in Pictou County with a June opening date.
This is part of a wider effort from Maruti to bring Pizza Hut to towns all over the Maritimes. Maruti currently has one Pizza Hut open now in Truro with eight more locations under construction: New Minas, Bridgewater, Sydney, Yarmouth, New Glasgow, St. John's in NFLD, Saint John in N.B. and Charlottetown, P.E.I."Pictou County has always had a strong pizza culture and is widely known for its brown sauce recipe with several other pizza brands in town.
"Our concentration for new stores right now is secondary markets where there isn't as much selection for fast food as there is in major markets like Halifax." "Pizza restaurants also fared well during the pandemic as the product doesn’t require much staff to prepare and it could be picked up and delivered safely." Constable said,"As such, many pizza brands including Pizza Hut have been able to expand their operations where many other industries are still trying to recover from their losses in 2020-2021"
