The chief pilot for Sea World Helicopters, Ash Jenkinson, who was killed in a helicopter crash on the Gold Coast has been remembered as a beacon of light.
Creed’sbegan playing at the start of the service for Jenkinson, who leaves behind partner Kosha Richardson-Johnson and one-year-old son Kayden.Kayden approached his father’s casket before the service began, reaching out and touching it, as Richardson-Johnson knelt down to pick him up.
Miles Jenkinson, Jenkinson’s brother, began the first eulogy from the family, telling the crowd stories of Jenkinson as a young boy, laughing through tears.Miles said when his brother introduced Richardson-Johnson to the family a few years ago, they realised she “completed Ash in every way”, and when they became parents was Jenkinson’s proudest achievements.
Upon meeting Richardson-Johnson, she said Jenkinson hugged and kissed her on the cheek, telling her she was beautiful. “I was going through a tough time and for a period when we first met, Ash would cook me dinner, dropping me flowers at my workplace and never treated me any different.“When we got to spend the day with Kayden, it just made him so happy.”
