A beautiful film set captures the spooky essence of fairies and goblins.
There's magic in the air at Burnaby's Deer Lake Park — the magic of fairies and goblins from The Spiderwick Chronicles, a TV show currently in production.
Park-goers came across a set of the dilapidated Spiderwick Estate, a Victorian-style mansion overgrown with leafy tendrils and vines. People strolled through the iconic, rusty Spiderwick gates, known from the popular children's fantasy book series of the same name by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black. The Disney+ TV show is filming in Metro Vancouver and stars Christian Slater, Lyon Daniels, Noah Cottrell, Joy Bryant and Mychala Lee.
