Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual has wooed foreign businesses in Switzerland to invest in the Philippines which he described as an “ideal investment destination in Asia,” as part of the country’s delegation to the World Economic Forum (WEF).

Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual has wooed foreign businesses in Switzerland to invest in the Philippines which he described as an “ideal investment destination in Asia,” as part of the country’s delegation to the World Economic Forum .

According to the Department of Trade and Industry , Pascual had meetings with senior executives of companies with business interests in the Philippines including Coursera, Chevron, Astranis, and She Loves Tech. Pascual also discussed potential partnerships with a representative of the WEF Executive Committee and Head of International Trade and Investment.

“We have met with several business executives and presented our country as an ideal investment destination in Asia,” Pascual said in an emailed statement. “Similarly, we shared with them our improved business climate, which was fueled by the recent economic policy reforms that facilitate ease of doing business,” he added.
