The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) predicts continued warm and humid weather across most of the country due to prevailing easterlies. While the northeast monsoon remains weak, scattered rain showers are expected in some areas, particularly in Luzon and Mindanao.

Metro Manila and most of the Philippines will continue to experience warm and humid weather due to prevailing easterlies, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration ( PAGASA ) on Friday, February 2nd. PAGASA Weather Specialist Benison Estareja stated that while the northeast monsoon (amihan) remains weak and only affecting extreme Northern Luzon , the easterlies are dominant, bringing hot and humid conditions across the country.

Metro Manila's temperature is expected to range from 24°C to 32°C, similar to Thursday's heat, while Baguio City may experience cooler temperatures of 15°C to 22°C. Estareja said to expect hot and humid weather in most parts of Luzon, particularly in the southern portions. Fair weather will prevail in the morning, followed by isolated rain showers in the afternoon and evening, particularly in Bicol, Quezon, and Aurora.Visayas and Palawan will have generally clear skies with warm mornings and occasional rain showers in the afternoon or evening. Estareja noted that Mindanao is expected to experience frequent rain showers, particularly in Caraga and Davao Region, due to the easterlies, sometimes heavy, especially in the afternoon and evening. He warned the public to bring umbrellas as rain showers are expected to be frequent in these areas. Zamboanga City, General Santos City, and Cotabato City will record the hottest temperatures in Mindanao at 33°C. Despite the weak amihan, cloudy skies with light rains will persist in Batanes and extreme Northern Luzon. While there is no gale warning, rough seas in extreme Northern Luzon may reach up to 3.7 meters, posing a hazard for small vessels.PAGASA forecasts the northeast monsoon to strengthen in the next four days, bringing light to moderate rains in Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Quezon starting Saturday. By Tuesday, rains may extend to northern Bicol and persist throughout the week. By midweek, the intensified amihan interacting with the easterlies may form a shear line, bringing scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in parts of Visayas and Mindanao, including Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region. Estareja cautioned the public to be aware of the threat of flooding and landslides due to the potential for heavy rainfall. PAGASA assured the public that no tropical cyclone is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in the coming days
