For the 3rd straight day, the DOH reported a record setting number of new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, this time having nearly 5,000 coronavirus-positive individuals.
FOR the third straight day, the Department of Health reported a record setting number of new coronavirus disease cases, this time having nearly 5,000 coronavirus-positive individuals.
Based on its August 1 case bulletin, the DOH reported 4,963 additional Covid-19 cases. This is higher than the previous record high of 4,063 new cases reported Friday, July 31.Majority of the new cases reported Saturday, August 1, came from the National Capital Region with 2,667.Of the confirmed cases, the DOH report showed that there were 17 new deaths recorded. This means that there are now a total of 2,039 fatalities due to Covid-19.
The new deaths were from NCR , Calabarzon , Central Visayas , Ilocos Region , and Zamboanga Peninsula .Meanwhile, the DOH said 93 new recoveries were recorded in the country.
