Xerxes Trinidad underscored that these actions are in direct response to the growing complexity of modern security challenges. He highlighted the recent arrest of a Chinese national and two Filipino accomplices for alleged espionage involving military bases and other critical infrastructure as a key factor driving these changes.Trinidad emphasized that the military's proactive stance in addressing threats is crucial to safeguarding the nation's security and sovereignty. He stated, “This operation, conducted in collaboration with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), demonstrates our unwavering commitment to protecting the country from threats to its safety and sovereignty.” To further enhance its defense strategy, the AFP is integrating advanced technologies like drones and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems. Additionally, the military is reinforcing security protocols within camps and vital installations, aligning with the General Security of Military Information Agreement (GSOMIA). Col.
