The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is coordinating with the police and local government units (LGUs) to manage traffic during an upcoming protest by the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) against moves to impeach Vice President Sara Duterte. The MMDA Chairperson Romando Artes stated that they will ensure roads remain passable and are engaging with the protest organizers to prevent traffic obstruction.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said on Friday it was coordinating with other agencies in preparation for the Iglesia ni Cristo protest against moves to impeach Vice President Sara Duterte.“Well, may coordination naman tayo sa pulis, sa LGU. Ang ano po natin dyan, ima-manage po natin yung traffic, we will make sure na passable ang mga kalsada,” MMDA Chairperson Romando Artes said in a press conference.
“Magco-coordinate din po siguro doon sa organizer ng rally para po magkaroon ng proper coordination at make sure na yung mga raliyista po ay hindi makakaabala sa traffic,” he said.As of Friday, the MMDA had not received details regarding the locations and routes the religious group would use for their protest.The INC rally was announced Wednesday during a program on the INC's media outlet.
