The Anti-Cybercrime Group of the Philippine National Police (PNP-ACG) has removed 115 social media pages selling prohibited firecrackers and pyrotechnic materials. Director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang stated that PNP-ACG actively monitors social media for violations and requests takedowns. In addition to taking down pages, the PNP-ACG conducts operations against online sellers, leading to the arrest of two individuals in Makati City for selling illegal firecrackers.

“We have been monitoring violations and we would immediately request for the takedown of the sites. It takes a while but we are acting on all of these,” said Yang. Aside from taking down the sites and pages, Yang said they are also conducting operations against the online sellers of illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnic materials.
