THE Philippine National Police confirmed on Friday, January 31, 2025, that a police colonel was among the 67 fatalities in the collision of an American Airlines Bombardier jet and an Army Black Hawk helicopter in Washington, D.C.In a press conference, PNP Chief of the Public Information Office Colonel Randulf Tuaño announced the tragic loss of Colonel Pergentino Malabed, chief of the Supply Management Division of the PNP Directorate for Logistics.

His contributions to the PNP and the nation will never be forgotten,” he added.Tuaño said Malabed along with two other PNP personnel left for India on February 22 for the conduct of pre-delivery inspection of 2,675 armored vests purchased by the PNP.Out of the almost 3,000 vests, Malabed and the two other PNP personnel brought five vests to the company’s mother unit in Kansas, US for further inspection on January 27..
