The Philippine Navy has significantly improved the operational readiness of its warships and marine units, enabling them to effectively conduct operations within the country's exclusive economic zone (EEZ). This enhanced capability is crucial for the naval service to fulfill its mandate under the Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Concept (CADC), which aims to protect all Philippine territories.

The Philippine Navy (PN) has enhanced the operational readiness of its warships and marine units, enabling them to effectively conduct operations within the country's exclusive economic zone ( EEZ ). PN spokesman Commander John Percie Alcos emphasized the importance of this capability for the naval service to fulfill its mandate under the Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Concept ( CADC ), which aims to defend all Philippine territories, including its 200-nautical mile EEZ .

Alcos stated that the PN has been actively improving the operational readiness of its units, particularly warships and marine units, to project naval power up to the EEZ. While he declined to provide specific numbers for security reasons, he confirmed a 'record number' of operationally ready warships and aircraft capable of conducting naval and maritime operations within the EEZ. To further bolster its capabilities, the PN will focus on sustained maritime operations to ensure national maritime security. The ongoing modernization program will see the PN acquire two brand-new guided missile corvettes and six offshore patrol vessels from South Korean defense contractor HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, and two landing dock platforms from Indonesian shipbuilder PT PAL within the next two to three years. Three batteries of the Indian-made Brahmos anti-ship missiles, to be operated by Marine units, are also expected to be commissioned soon. Additionally, the PN plans to acquire additional anti-submarine helicopters to enhance the capabilities of the forthcoming guided missile corvettes. Commander Alcos affirmed the PN's commitment to its modernization program and strategic partnerships with like-minded navies
