A PhilHealth official says they will rely on government subsidy with the expected decrease in premium contribution from members, which account for 60 percent of their funds.

— PhilHealth may lose its reserve funds due to the COVID-19 pandemic next year, an official of the state firm that is embroiled in corruption allegations said Tuesday.

The official said they expect a net operating loss of P90 billion in 2020, adding they also project to incur P147 billion in losses by next year.Pressed by Drilon to elaborate, Santiago said this means PhilHealth may stop operations by 2022.
