The league announced Thursday morning that its best-of-three semifinals will be played by its top four teams, with Boston’s Bentley Arena and Toronto’s Mattamy Athletic Centre hosting the games.The single-game championship for the Isobel Cup is on March 26 at a to-be-determined neutral site. The Six are in second place, one point behind Boston Pride with six games remaining. Toronto hosts what could be a pivotal matchup with Boston on the final weekend of the regular season March 11-12.Seeding for the playoffs has yet to be determined.
“It was imperative that our playoff format underscore the importance of every regular season game and the valuable points awarded in the standings throughout the year to produce a final four that is most deserving of championship contention,” said league commissioner Reagan Carey. “Boston’s Bentley Arena and Toronto’s Mattamy Athletic Centre will help showcase the PHF in two of our established markets on both sides of the border and in venues that allow for greater fan access and broadcast opportunities.”
