MANILA - The Philippines has "garnered a tremendous amount of goodwill" from the international community after the government helped bring home foreigners and tourists who were stranded in the country after a lockdown was put in place to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 , Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr. said Wednesday.
"The foreign ministers have called me to say, 'Thank you so much because the Philippines stands out by the care and concern they did to bring they nationals back and we will not forget,'" Locsin told senators in a hybrid Senate hearing.
