Backbenchers will be able to support the Voice proposal if they wish, while shadow ministers’ position against it is binding. When facing the media on Wednesday, Mr Dutton said he will actively come out against constitutional change.“I have spent literally months, like many Australians, trying to understand what it is the Prime Minister is proposing.
“We cannot get the basic detail out of them. We think it is deliberate. We are waiting, waiting for advice.” Prime Minster Anthony Albanese has already âchanged the wordingâ of the Voice to Parliament âon three occasions,â according to Opposition Leader Peter Dutton.
