Peter Dutton is travelling to Israel to meet with senior government officials and members of the community impacted by the October 7 Hamas terrorist attacks.
The Opposition Leader confirmed on Monday night he would be in the Middle Eastern country until Thursday.
Mr Dutton has met with Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz while later on Monday he will sit down with President Isaac Hertzog.The Opposition Leader is also set to meet with former hostages and families of those still held by Hamas, according to Sky News Australia host Sharri Markson.The official trip will be the first time either of Australia’s major party leaders has travelled to Israel since the October 7 terror attacks.
“I know that Prime Minister Netanyahu hasn't had a chance to return your call but it is important for us to be able to stand with Israel at this time as other world leaders have done.
