Group reportedly assaulted the person on the 500-block of Yates Street in downtown Victoria.
Victoria police are investigating a Wednesday afternoon assault with a weapon that led to one person being transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses called 911 about 3:45 pm to report that someone was being attacked by a group in the 500-block of Yates Street. The scene was blocked off to allow forensic-identification officers to document the scene and collect evidence. Police warned about the possibility of traffic disruptions because of their investigation and advised drivers to consider taking alternate routes.Any witnesses who have yet to talk to officers or people with video footage are asked to call Victoria police at 250-995-7654, extension 1.
