IPOH: The Perak police contingent collected over RM1.8mil during the recent 60% discount offer period for selected traffic offence summonses, says Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri.
The state police chief said the amount was collected between March 20 and 31, with the discount extended in conjunction with 216th Police Day on March 25.
"We collected RM1,837,350 during the 12 days, the second highest collection in the country during that period. "Ipoh district police collected the highest amount with RM391,090, followed by Manjung with RM213,310 and Taiping with RM199,190," he told a press conference at state police contingent headquarters here on Tuesday .
"We thank all those who fulfilled their responsibilities by settling their summonses throughout the period. "I would also like to urge the people to continue adhering to traffic rules, especially when we will be celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri soon," he added.
