Despite winning multiple awards at the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival, Pepe Diokno's film 'Isang Himala' is facing a limited theatrical run, prompting appeals from the director and lead actress for audience support.

Award-winning filmmaker Pepe Diokno expressed disappointment that his film ' Isang Himala ' is now showing in only nine cinemas, down from over 30, coinciding with the awards night of the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival . On his X account, Diokno shared that the film, a cinematic adaptation of the acclaimed 2018 stage play inspired by the multi-awarded 1982 film starring Nora Aunor, is experiencing a limited run.

He announced an additional screening on December 28 at a Makati City mall and urged audiences to watch it while it's still available, suggesting they request the film from their nearest cinemas. Diokno earlier explained that the film's genre and lack of 'box office stars' contributed to the limited release. He appealed for support, stating that positive reception could encourage more cinemas to screen it. Lead star Aicelle Santos also appealed for support, acknowledging the positive reviews but highlighting the film's limited theatrical run. Santos urged viewers to watch 'Isang Himala' before it disappears from cinemas. 'Isang Himala' boasts a lengthy runtime of 2 hours and 25 minutes. At the MMFF's Gabi ng Parangal awards night, the film achieved significant success, winning Best Musical Score (Vincent de Jesus), Best Original Song ('Ang Himala Ay Nasa Puso' by Vincent de Jesus and Ricky Lee, performed by Juan Karlos), Best Supporting Actress (Kakki Teodoro), Special Jury Prize, and 4th Best Picture
